Kasandra Mary

After losing her father in 2004, Kasandra Mary (a fictitious name) was exposed to instances of commercial sexual exploitation by her peers. To provide for her siblings and her ill mother, who lived in the Kawempe and Kampala district suburbs, Kasandra engaged in sexual activity with boys and older men in exchange for cash.

She was rescued by Rahab Uganda, who then took her into their care and provided her with four years of rehabilitation. For instance, she was successfully enrolled in school after undergoing behavioral change and emotional and psychosocial healing through counseling and other psychosocial services.

In 2009, Kasandra was given a role as a mentor to girls coming out of sexual exploitation and child trafficking in a counterpart organization, where she thrived in her role. As a result of her resilience, she won promotions to progressive managerial positions in the same organization. In 2017, Kasandra got into a holy marriage and had two children.
