Gaby, aged 28, is the mother of four children (2 boys and 2 girls) from two different fathers.
Both her parents died while she was young. She was born and raised in the Central Region.
She studied up to primary four, and due to home instability, she was trafficked to Kampala, where she worked as a housemaid at age 14 in four different households. Working conditions were harsh; she worked for excessive hours; food was insufficient; she lacked freedom of speech and movement; she was mistreated; and she was underpaid. She decided to quit and engaged in hawking different items. She also worked in salon and one of her friends introduced her to the sale of illegal drugs and alcohol and tricked her to commercial sex exploitation work, she ended up being infected with HIV/AIDS.
The results broke her; she was devastated and went into severe depression. During Rahab's outreaches, the social workers convinced her to join the program, which she agreed to; however, she was irregular and dropped after studying for a few months. She later rejoined around July 2022, and she requested to be re-enrolled in the Rahab Program.
